Optibalance is a scientifically formulated rumen pH stabilizer and buffer blend designed to maintain the acid–base balance within the rumen of dairy and beef cattle. It optimizes microbial activity, supports fiber digestion, and prevents sub-acute ruminal acidosis (SARA) caused by high-concentrate feeding.
Mode of Action:
- Neutralizes Excess Acidity: Sodium bicarbonate and magnesium oxide act rapidly to neutralize lactic acid, maintaining rumen pH between 6.2–6.8.
- Sustained Buffering: Lithothamne powder (marine mineral complex) provides slow-release natural buffering through porous calcium-magnesium carbonate.
- Enhances Microbial Efficiency: Stabilized pH promotes cellulolytic bacteria, improving fiber and starch digestion.
- Improves Feed Intake: Stable rumen fermentation encourages better appetite and consistent DMI (Dry Matter Intake).
